I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mike, I'm from Oklahoma City. I just purchased my 125g fish tank today and finished setting it up. Im looking for advice on anything about African Cichlids. I already have 8 1" mbuna in another tank (will add to the new tank when it has cycled fully), now thinking about what else to add to the tank. I have PLENTY of room... lol. I would also like to add other types of fish as well, so please let me know what kind of fish get along cichids. I will upload pics of the tank and fish ASAP, so keep one eye open for that. Also, can anyone recommend an online fish store. Im looking at livefishdirect.com right now. Thanks for your help. I look forward to learning.

Haven't been around for a couple of days, usually busier around here than it looks like it's been the last few days. Anyway, good way to start imo is to browse some of the threads here as far as tank combinations, compatible fish, etc. Or ask about a specific species you're thinking of adding.

As far as sources for fish, I haven't gotten any fish from livefishdirect.com but I've seen a couple of good reviews. You might also consider some of the sponsors here on the forum, who could also help as far as suggestions for stocking your tank.

The major difference between places like LiveFishDirect and retailers such as our Sponsors... is that LFD mainly if not exclusively deal in pond raised Florida & Asian stock.... where our Sponsors and retailers like them deal in primarily wild or hobbyiest bred stock... usually healthier and hardier, not to mention sounder genetically.
