I bought some Labidochromis Sp. fry at a fish Auction sponcered by Ohio Cichlid Association(this is not a plug;I'm just hoping this info. helps me ID the fish, although their Auctions are truely unbelieveable) and before the bags got home from the 3 1/2 hr drive back to Buffalo NY the the tags on their bags where soaked due to another bag leak!! This caused the tags inks ran and the two that were touching transfered inks and made them a ink blot mess!! The closet I was able to make out(I believe) Labidochromis Ferbergeri(??) Anyone got any ideas?? I serached the fish and haven't seen anything like them;but it is hard without being sure what they are!! The fish were fry at the time but have grown to a very beutiful adults that have turned on and our spawning nicely! They are Labidochromis shaped and fish are a jet black with a vibrant electric blue strips(almost like a electic blue johnanni's blue) If anyone has the ID of these fish please email me at jam6803@yahoo.com. Hmmm will definitely be a tough one without pics, especially since your description makes them sound like Melanochromis johanni......

Were they from the OCA auction of 11/09? I was there, and remember seeing Melanochromis vermivorus, could that be it?
