So I join this forum Sunday and post a "Hello" in the Welcome Forum and I get some great advice from Cathy regarding a few breeds I have. white trash posts and recommends a great supplier 30 minutes from my home and mentions to me that he has some Acei juvies available and since Cathy recommended them as a potential replacement breed for my Stoniis and Venustus - he offered to sell me some of them.

So...2 days as a member of this forum and I've already met one local member (white trash), gotten 8 beautiful juvie Aceis who are now playfully schooling around my tank and gotten some great advice from another member.

Pretty cool place and people you have here...just thought I'd say so.

th_38326493.gif I would not have the successful tank I have today without some awesome advice and some local help too. th_38326493.gif

Glad you're liking them. When I first added my Acei I loved them because of how they schooled together and seemed to hang out together alot, my labs weren't exactly like that.

On a side note, if you like your Demasoni you could consider just keeping one in there, that might work. I started with 3, but once I got down to one (and lost 1 zebra) everything was fine. No problems since. Now that I have 10 more Demasonis working their way towards adulthood that'll probably be changing soon tho.

I'm with Cathy, the cast of characters around here have shared so much information that it's the reason my tank is successful IMO. And if I hadn't stumble on the local reef club when my saltwater addiction started god only knows what state that tank would be in.

Good luck with your tank.

Wow...it's funny you mentioned you lost a zebra:

Today, while I was at work, one of the Demanosi's got picked off, and so did my lone zebra. I'm pretty sad because it was my fault for putting them in there together.

On a funny note - you should see how the stonii's are acting since the baby Acei's...every time one swims by, they practice their ambush "play like a dead fish" act. They never do anything...it's almost like watching kittens pounce on each other.

I have plenty of hiding places for the Acei's and they seem to be having a blast...feeding well too.

Thanks again man...I'm looking forward to watching them grow up.

And I can't believe my largest (small at only 3 inches) Yellow Lab has a mouthful of eggs...I have to keep a close eye on her, I have a tank ready for the fry when they come...

I'll post some pics probably this weekend.

just so you konw, be very careful when keeping demasonis. Males are extremely intolerant of eachother and there will only be one allowed to survive. I started with 17 now I'm down to 1m 2f who breed regularly.

I take it you are an mma fan? more so a brasilian jujitsu? That's my favorite, I got a post on off topic about it.

Thanks for the warning about the Demasoni's...they've already picked off one and my lone Red Zebra.

Huge MMA fan since day one and actovely train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Brian McLaughlin (Brown Belt under Rob Kahn who happens to be Royce Gracie's very first Black Belt). I'm a 1 stripe Blue Belt, been training almost 2 1/2 years.

damn that's very impressive. Never got into training myself but I was hooked ever since ufc 1 and my dad was like "there's some new crazy fight show on tonite we're gonna rent it" still got the vhs.

So Fedor vs. Brock any thoughts?

Not to Hijack the thread:

Hmmmmmm...that all depends.

I want to see Brock's chin get tested, which it hasn't been yet. Randy went pretty deep with Brock and Heath Herring went the distance. Andre Arlovski was pushing Fedor around until he got greedy. It really could go either way - though I would love to see Fedor put Brock on his back and pound him out...but that's easier said than done.

The longer Fedor goes without fighting anyone SUBSTANTIAL, the more risk he runs of getting beaten. He's also never fought in a cage and there is a huge difference.

I think Brock's weakness MAY be his chin but until it's tested, who knows.

If they were fighting tomorrow and I had to bet, I'd pick Fedor but it really is a crap shoot.
