Fish Geek
Hello All,

I've been on the Trophs.com site for a couple of months now, and a couple days ago, saw this link.

Since I don't spend enough time on the sites th_killingme.gif whacky.gif I figured I get on this one, too!!

I see a few familiar names. wave.gif

I am setting up a new 55 gallon today that I'd originally intended to grow out some Tropheus moorii "Ilangi" fry in (F1), but I may end up getting ~10 more WC "mpulungu" to QT in it and then add to main colony.

I have been into cichlids for 17 years or so (geeze, I feel old now!! yay.gif )

I have two 125 gallons. One has a colony of 14 tank raised T. moorii 'mpulungu" and 10 WC moops. and 2 WC Eretmodus cyanostictus Kigoma Orange. The other has moop ~17-20 moop fry growing out in it.

29 gallon with one one-eyed moop and another WC Eret who got "voted off the island".

I have 2 empty 55 gallons that I'm not exactly sure what I'm gonna put in them for the long haul. I'm thinking Chalinochromis, Steatocranus and Xystichromis phytophagus "Christmas fulu". I don't know!!

I love the emoticons on this site!! Lots of knowledge.

Hey Fish Geek, welcome to ACF!! wave.gif

Tropheus are awesome, non-stop action. Any pics?

What other cichlids have you kept in the past?

Holding female. I counted 8 fry when she spit them yesterday.

I love the troph face. Such character.

Eretmodus cyanostictus "Orange Kigoma" WC

Tank raised male on left getting to know one of the girls from the "old country"

The main moop tank. I plan on removing the last remaining lace rock.

Mostly WC in this photo.

Dominant male displaying for the females.

The tank in the foreground is now consigned to the fry. I've redecorated it since this pic with simple riverstone piles.

I've kept Julidochromis marleri, Steatocranus tinanti, Petrochromis of some sort (had 3 dealer didn't know what kind they were, came home one day and found one left). T. moorii lufubu, T. moorii chipimbi, Uaru amphiacanthoides, Geophagus steindachneri, jurapari, Blue Rams, Bristlenose pleco, Cleithracara moronii, H. severum, Altolamprolugus calvus "black", and a few more besides the beginner mbuna. I worked at Kingfish in Austin back in the early 90's.

Thanks for looking.

JJ.
