Been trying to get a shot that does the color in this Acei's dorsal fin justice, but normally when it's flared out it's moving and/or I haven't had the camera settings right. I still wish I could capture it w/o the flash because it looks even better under the actinic. But... here it is.

Great capture and WOW his dorsal really seems to glow!!

Good luck with the "no flash" pics. As you have seen, can be very frustrating to get a decent one.

Great shot.

Definitely one of my favorite Mbuna. I really hated getting rid of my group of 11 when I had them.

WOW! What a beauty!! I have been trying to find a male everywhere with no luck! I ended up with 3 females, who spawn with each other blink.gif They want a "man" so badly! laugh.gif

I have 8 total, and I believe I started with 2m 4f, couldn't really tell until they grew. The other 2 I haven't figured out yet. I've seen these guys try to spawn, do their shake, and even do the little shimmy/egg spot nip dance, yet none have ever held. It's frustrating. Sometimes it looks like they're about to spawn, then someone swims in and breaks it up! blink.gif

Too bad we don't live close, we could trade a male for a female that has held at least 4 times! laugh.gif
