Hi all, I go by fishyj, I've been in the hobby 30+ years and have kept everything from goldfish to lionfish. I am geting back into the hobby again. This time just the malawi's. I have a 125 gallon tank . Can anyone suggest stock for the tank? Any advice would be helpful.

Hey fishyj, welcome to ACF!! wave.gif

Good to have you and your experience here with us.

What type of Malawi fish do you like, i.e. mbuna, haplochromines, or peacocks? Are you looking to breed or just have a nice show tank?

Like them all, On the 125 I want a show tank. Plan on getting a couple of other tanks for breeding.

IMO the 125 gallon would be a nice size for an all male Hap and/ or Peacock tank.

Let us know what you end up going with.

Hi fishyj, I'm new to the hobby as well. My girl & I have gone from one 55g to 3 more plus 4 10g fry tanks in a very short period. We only have mbunas and they are fantastic(alot of work) but still fantastic. Definitly recomend mbunas but then again I've never had any other malawi species. What ever species you choose lake malawi produces the some of the most beautiful freshwater fish I have ever seen! Let me know what you choose! smile.gif
