There are a TON of combos that would work with julies in your 170g.... try browsing the site and see what catches your eye th_38326493.gif

Calvus are great tankmates for Julidichromis plus you will see some really cool behaviour as the calvus hunt juli fry. Make sure you've got rocks stacked high. I have that same tank, my favorite tank by the way, and I stacked the rocks way up to the top in a pyramid type shape with sand on every side except the back. I stacked the rocks so everyone will use the whole tank, even the callochromis swim mid-water all the time because they feel "covered". In that tank I currently house J. transcriptusx2, A. Calvusx5, L. Furciferx1 (if you like juli's you won't believe L. furcifer! so cool!), Callochromis pleurospilusx3, caudopunctatusex2, mealagris1, leleupix1 and similisx4 as well as 12 Cyprichromis leptosoma utinta all male. I have had no fighting or dying in this setup. I have got tons of fry from this setup as well. I hope this helps.

Thanks a ton .It helps a lot I was thinking cyps . 12 would be cool. I just got my Substrate today. Looking for some foam for rock work. How many calvus would be a good number ? I will take pictures soon as I start setting it up. I cant wait I just got back into the hobby again after a 5 year break. Thank you BIOG
