I have always wanted to have these. I got four from a local breeder, and I have them in a planted 20 gal. with a chunk of driftwood.
Congratulations on the new kribs!!!

1) I have seen kribs that are brilliantly coloured. Mine are brown and grey and white. I do have one that is larger who hides alot who is colouring up a bit. Will they get like the yellow ones which have the brilliant red bellies?
Those colorful ones with the red bellies are gravid females in spawning dress. Yes, when they're in condition they will also show this brilliant coloration

2) I want to encourage spawning in the future. What kind of live foods would you recommend? They are somewhat small right now (ranging from .75" to 1.25"). Has anyone tried to breed mosquito larvae and give them to them when they are smaller?
I've never fed my kribs live foods.. so I cannot help you there. Haven't had trouble getting them to spawn without it however. Kribs especially enjoy hikari frozen bloodworms.

3) Who is bigger? The males or the females?
The males are larger, more elongated, and have more pronounced finnage. Here are pictures of each (P. pulcher) for you to compare.
