I was'nt going to put this in here but its really got me bothered a bit.
There was a thread in the "Breeding" section titled "Albino Burundi".
The thread was going to be,, IMO,,,a very good thread dispite what some post were getting at. (some members know what I mean.)
We had members interested in seeing these fry,, and possibly learning about the rarity of the "AB".
Is this the way we are going to handle post' that have differences of opinions, by just coping out and deleting rather than showing members how things can be handled?
Can I make a suggestion?
From now on,,,can someone PLEASE explain, in the same thread,, what, how and why things are done in certain ways rather than just making it disappear? Even if the "creator" of a thread has decided that things are or seem to be getting out of hand, at least explain the reasons?????
thoughts??????

thoughts??????
OK AP, here's my thoughts....
I don't know who handled that thread how, I really don't.
But my thoughts are:
I'm glad they handled it, as I am extremely sick and tired of reading about it in every non-fish related aspect of that thread.

In my opinion the thread shouldn't have been removed it should have been only locked .I think that the post was really removed due to that someone said a few things that might have been or shouldn't have been said .The only time that a post should be totally deleted or moved to lets say the advisors section of the forum if there was something offensive eg:adult content pics

The thread was hidden from view. If I get a good clear shot of the albino, I may bring the thread back for all to view with a good picture, but quite honestly I am tired of the direction and attention that it has received. So I was the one who chose to hide it.
I am a hobbyist first and foremost and this thread was getting me negative attention and doubts. I enjoy my fish and the hobby, but I dont enjoy the scrutiny. If I had known how controversial this was, I'd never have posted about it.

First, Let me preface by saying that I followed this thread to page 6 and I found nothing offensive up to that point. If it took a nasty direction, I wouldn't know, and I appologize. But, what is concerning me is the fact that ACF was/is a place where poeple can voice their opinons (popular or not) and not receive retaliation for it. If Les was personally attacked, and/or threatened with violence and profanities, I may understand why Admin would want to stop that, but don't take it away, lock it and/or edit the offensive material. The fact is, there was good info on this post about the probability of albinism that was very interesting and should me made availabe for others to view. I understand there is an effort to make ACF a "warm and fuzzy" place, but do we want to turn every reply to "Great Job !!!! Thanks for Sharing !!!!"

Scott your point is well taken. Nothing offensive said on ACF at least, but I just decided that I dont want to talk about it anymore. So for now I am hiding it. If I can produce a good pic, I may open it up again
