I know that probably it will be one of the moderators who will answer this but here is my question

How does AFC determine its membership status?

I see that we reverted bact to the older members status as I now have back my Advanced membership profile back YeAAAAAAAAAH!!!!What is the new criteria for this and also how does one get selected for lets say a "contributing members" group as compared to just a "members" group?How does one become a moderator?

I am relatively new here (April)but I am curious about how this is run so that I knowhow to become a better member of this forum

The Contributing member group will most likely be changed in the future to a Supporting member group. As it stands now, members in the contributing group have donated money to help keep this site running and we really appreciate their help. We would like to use the contributing group for members who contribute articles and profiles in the future as the site progresses.

Moderators are chosen by the staff.

Sorry...I have higher standards, I only take VIP member's autographs

In all seriousness.. I think it's important to emphasize a point that was made in a simliar thread....
Post count rankings do not in any way reflect a level of "expertise" etc.
Each and every one of our member's contributions is valuable to ACF.
But those who contribute the most to our forum deserve a little recognition, that's all
So keep on posting

I think that if one can handle the abuse from the Mods,,,they should be VIP Members already!!!!

I don't really think people need to be recognized for contributions to this forum,,,,
I think most of us CHOOSE to be a part of it regardless of what their "ranking will be!! IMO, this forum is by far the best forum running in regards to fish and the hobby.

Titles do not mean a thing. "New Members all the way up to the Admins", are still MEMBERS.
All here to contribute and learn. In other words,,,just because you are not an "Elite Member" or whatever,,,,,does'nt mean I am not going to listen to your thoughts and opinions.

I was once a Mod. but find myself happier now as a Contributing Member. Reason being,,,,
I don't get yelled at in the board room!!!!
