I was just wondering if it would be possible to see the date/time of when something is posted, versus "a week ago", "three weeks ago", etc.?

Great idea. I prefer the date as well, IMO.

The only real problem I see with that is that everybody is on a different time! I didn't realize last night that Debbie was like 4 hours different than me! Will the the time thing pose a problem with your scenario? I tend to like the (so many minutes ago thing)...but do see your point on dates!

I'm not the one writing the changes, but I've seen other forums that use the time and it doesn't appear to cause any major issues. At the top of the Forum Index page it states what time it is, so I suppose if a member is in a different time zone than what the Forum uses as it's own, the member would have something to reference. It's not a big deal, I've just found that there's been a few times that I've gone back to read something and it would've been nice to know when it actually occurred, versus just the "two weeks ago."

i think the software can adjust things for each user depending on what time zone you're in. am i right on that one?

Correct, the software allows for different time zones.

Ok gang.....here's a little compromise.
We set it to show the "minutes" up to the first hour......then it changes to "Today & Time" for posts made in the last 24hrs. It also changes to "Yesterday & Time" for posts made 24hrs-48hrs ago. Then it changes back to the exact "Date + Time" for any post older than 48hrs.
