Hi There !!!!
Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm new to the fish world (4 months). I am addicted. Will I ever stop buying fish and tanks???.

I currently have 5 tanks (75, 55, 29,2-15's) stocked with Haps, Peacocks and Mbuna.(about 30 adult fish with 20 yellow lab fry, and 80 German Red fry).
My fish list includes (but not limited to ...)
German Red
Lwanda
Carolinae
Ngara
T. Reef
Tang. Tiger
Red Empress
Yellow Blaze Lithobates
Soulosi
Yellow lab
Fuelleborni
Red Fin Boryeli
D. Compressiceps
Most are breeding pairs or groups
My future project will be a colony of Tropheus.
Thanks for having me.
Hopefully I can learn something here !!!!

Head first is the only way to get in !!!!
I understand your concern, but I have logged many hours of computer time learning about this fickle hobby(obsession). I'm sure one day you may be able to help me, and hopefully one day I will be able to help someone else new to the game.
Anyways... Pic's ???
Here's a couple of what I have:

Hope I did the pic's right, If not... Sorry

oops !!!! Too big.
Your right AA. I need your help already. How do I make pics smaller? I'm using Photobucket.
Thanks !!!

Welcome. And not to sound like too much a downer, I have to agree with AA and Mongo - even though you've done tons of 'research', there's still never ever going to be anything that can beat first hand knowledge gained from actual experience. I've been in this hobby a lot longer than 4 months, and I'm still learning something about my fish every day.

HOLY METAL BATMAN! I do believe that i wont be submitting any pics for any more photo contests around here again! Those are by far some of the best pice I've seen. It looks like the competion just got very steep on this forum. "BM1099" I bow to your superior pics...heck i bow...do back flips...slap myself...bang my head against the wall...pull my nails out...contemplate selling every fish i own and lastly...HARI KARI with a dull rusted bent spoon!

I agree, I will continue to learn, but (not to sound conceided) I feel like I do have a head start over others that have only been doin' it 4 months because I did do alot up front.
Mongo, "YOU KILL ME"

Your posts really crack me up !!!!
Fishboy and Crazya...,
Thanks for the compliments !!!
AP - I was warned abot you !!!!
and "yes" I think I will like it here. Not as "stuffy" as another forum I am a part of.
and the pic's - beginners luck
Thanks everyone for your kind words.
Oh, fishboy - Have you had any luck breeding your soulosi. My male seems very disinterested in breeding and won't even acknowledge the existance of his 3 females. I am now experimenting with diet, lighting, decor, and heat. I haven't been able tp find the right combo to get him giggy !!!!

Okay, Klaus, I was having one of those "duh" periods where I never saw your website until birdman brought it to my attention. I'm in awe...And the pic Sharon did of the front is just amazing!
Welcome, birdman...Think I've seen you around on other forums, and have to agree that if you are one and the same, you DID do your research...We didn't, so I have to applaud you for it! Thing is, I think these type fish still teach you a thing or two along the way, no matter what! Great to have you here!

Here is the thing. I have a trio that is probably around 1 year old and 4-4.5 inches, and none of the 2 females has spawned. But, i got 5 new ones that are now 2.5-3.5 inches, which i believe is 1m/4f. I had one of those spawn 2 weeks ago, but she ate the eggs. The male is very interested, but female isn't. Before August, my fish were spawning like crazy. My cobalt blue female held 6 times, but i never got fry. I have since changed the stocklist, which is this
8 saulosi(2m/6f i think)
1m/2f afra cobue(will be getting 2 males and 2 females, probably be getting rid of my current male, so 2m/4f)
1m/1f Labeo. Trew. Mpanga(my female is bigger than male, she has had her tube down twice. She is 6 inches he is 5. So a little more catching up and they will start spawning, am getting 2 more females)
1m/2f cobalts(i got a F1 trio 1 year ago and a new smaller female 2 months ago, she is 3 inches smaller than my big pair, and i am getting 2 more females her size)
I don't know what is going on, but my female cobalt has her tube down i am pretty sure. I think my saulosi will start spawning soon like crazy. My male cobue is stupid, he justs swims along the sides of the tank. I am getting a WC and F1 male that are way smaller than any other male in the tank. My current females are 3 inches, and the males i am getting are 3 inches. Go check out my Thread in the Photography section for pictures of my cobue and saulosi. I will get pics of the others

Thanks Kim, It's really nice to be here, and your right. The day I stop learning about these fascinating creatures, is the day I will go do something else.
Fishboy - I just have 4 (1M 3f) soulosi. I would add more but none of my LFS have any. Both say they would be interested in my fry if I get any, but it's just not happening. They sound like fickle little creatures.
My German Reds and my Labs breed non stop !!!!
p.s. I still need to know how to post smaller pics, Anyone !!!!

Birdman, instead of photobucket which a lot of us used, you can just add a file attachment...just under the message box you type in!!! It's waaay easier!
