Try for weekly, end up every 10-14 days. 20%-30% changes. Syphon the substrate I can get to, but don't mess with the rocks unless I'm doing a "reset" adding fish.

Shame on me, but I am being honest- On the majority of my larger tanks, I do water changes monthly unless I see visual signs that my fish need it done sooner. I do vac the gravel most of the time. On my tanks that have sand substrate. I try and change 50% of the water when I do changes. I use ammocarb so my water normally doesnt smell,or become stained in between water changes. I change the ammocarb monthly when I do my water changes. (some small fry or juvie tanks are done weekly at a rate of 25%)

I'm a bi-monthly kind of water changer, and I do 50% religiously. I dont have gravel in any of my tanks any more...they all have sand. And they all have at least one "earth-eater" species in them (keeps the sand churned up) yes even in with the Africans.

Usually weekly 30-50% water changes. I do not siphon the gravel. I like to have plants in all my tanks and I noticed that tropheus do a lot of sand movement.

I change water weekly, 3 tanks at a time. Usually it is about 50%, sometimes more (If I am not paying close attention) and usually vaccuum the sand

40% once a week, and siphon the leftovers (Feces) from the bottom of my bare bottom tanks, occasionally when the fish get extra food I do extra W/C's.
Fry tanks get the same treatment.
New arrivals get about 20-25% a day or every other day, depending on how well they are eating and leftover waste on the bottom!
No bloat here th_38326493.gif
